Institutional silos. School football is under the education bureau, club academies under the sports bureau—two different bosses, two different playbooks, zero coordination. A kid performs well in school tournaments, but clubs won’t recognize those results. Clubs run their own training programs that clash with school schedules. No parent would gamble their kid’s education on a shaky football dream. So the fix has to be a joint training mechanism: schools provide facilities and students, clubs bring coaches and systems. Kids attend regular classes during the day, train with clubs after school—results count for both sides. Maybe give bonus points for college admission or club scholarships. That’s how you get parents on board. Second, coach resources. School football’s biggest weakness is lousy coaches—many PE teachers can’t even kick a ball. Clubs have retired pros and licensed coaches. Let them go into schools regularly, or send school teachers to club training. That upgrades quality and lets clubs spot talents early. Third, competitions. School leagues and club youth leagues run parallel, wasting everyone’s time. Mix them up—let school teams play against club tier teams. Strong vs weak, real competition, real exposure. And the practical stuff: student registration. When clubs poach a promising kid, where does that kid’s school registration go? Some pilot programs now have clubs sign agreements with partner schools—kids keep their school status, do remote tutoring from school teachers while training at clubs, or the club runs its own education branch. Worth scaling. Bottom line: linking club academies and school football ain’t about slogans. It’s about real institutional design, interest distribution, and patience. Look at Japan’s football rise—they did it step by step through school-club integration. We gotta do the same. Slow but steady, the direction matters more than speed.
